Well, there we have it. The club have confirmed that Rafa is to leave as manager of Liverpool by 'mutual consent'.
For the past 6 years, many have questioned his position as manager, but I for one have always shown support in him. The troubles at Liverpool run an awful lot deeper than Rafa Benitez and I am now afraid of what is to happen over the coming months. Will we have a temporary manager until the club is sold? Who would want to manage a club with no transfer kitty? These questions need to be answered quickly by Purslow and Kenny Dalglish who in charge of recruiting the next LFC manager.
But for now, all I can do is to thank Rafael Benitez of the amazing memories he has given me over the last few years. Top of the list was Istanbul - completely orchestrated by Benitez, which to this day remains the best night of my football-supporting life. Also countless European nights at Anfield, beating the giants of football and making Liverpool fans proud to sing YNWA.
Rafa, Good Luck for you and your family, wherever you may end up next. You Will Never Walk Alone.
