Torres Press Conference

Fernando Torres is focussing on the World Cup as Spain trains in Madrid. The press were keen to question the frontman over his Anfield future, but Torres refused to talk about that at the moment. He said:
"The most important thing for me now is the World Cup. My future is the World Cup and then we'll see later.
"For now and hopefully for the next two months the only thing I am thinking about and talking about is the World Cup."

He said he know what is happening behind the scenes, and will no doubt want to make sure the club is stable (as does any Liverpool fan) before he commits his long term future to the club.
"That is one of the ways we need to improve," said the Spain international.
"I know the situation, I speak to the chief executive (Christian Purslow) and Rafa (Benitez) every week and I am aware of what is going on.
"I have tried to stay apart from them and re-focus on the national team so when the World Cup ends, we'll see what happens."

Captain, My Captain

Steven Gerrard is our Captain,
Steven Gerrard is a Red,
Steven Gerrard plays for Liverpool,
A Scouser Born and Bred.

This is one man who hasn't played anywhere near his best this season. Whether it's family issues troubling him or the shear weight he's been carrying on his shoulder's over the last few years.
If it is the latter then we must reiterate the need for the off field issues to be sorted out asap.

Now at the end of the season, the times ahead are very worrying for Liverpool. Rumours in the paper about our top two players leaving in the summer, as well as our manager, are unthinkable. I just hope the issues are resolved sooner rather than later and we can get this football club back on track to bring home number 19.

Player of the Season

Pepe Reina is my LFC player of the season.
On countless times the Spaniard  has saved Liverpool from many embarrassing moments.
Pepe is a man I have a lot of respect for. He has such a big character - exactly what you need to be a successful Liverpool player. He has signed a six year contract, so I hope Liverpool will do him proud and win a trophy or two. I'd love to see him rein act the 'camarero' antics after Spains Euro 2008 win.

Pepe Reina - we salute you!
